Town of Unicoi Cruise In

The town of Unicoi Cruise In is every Friday from 5:30-7:30pm thru September 26th at 106 Unicoi Village Place.  Cruise In and check out the hot rods, vintage cars and shiny engines.  Drop-ins welcome and it’s free for everyone!

Music on the Square in Jonesborough

Summer Worship Night Concert Series

The Summer Worship Night Concert Series will be Sundays from 7-10pm on Broad Street in downtown Kingsport through July 6.  The series is like no other, bringing together local artists, worship leaders and the community with live music, testimonies of transformation and more.  All are invited.  Bring a lawn chair.

Covered Bridge Jams in Elizabethton

Covered Bridge Jams brings free live music to Covered Bridge Park in Elizabethton almost every Saturday  through August.   The event is in it’s 11th year with food trucks each week as well.  Shows start at 7pm, unless otherwise noted.  Bring a blanket or a lawn chair and the whole family!

Believe In Bristol’s Border Bash Summer Concert Series

Believe in Bristol’s 2025 Border Bash summer concert series will feature live music in Downtown Bristol, TN/VA, on several dates throughout the summer.

Here’s the Border Bash 2025 lineup, with dates and venues:

July 11: The Tan & Sober Gentlemen and Adam Bolt on the 400-500 block of State Street.

July 25: Buffalo Wabs & the Price Hill Hustle and The Boys on the 700 block of State Street.

August 8: Caitlin Krisko & The Broadcast and Randi Denton at Downtown Center.

The Border Bash is a free concert series hosted by Believe in Bristol, celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2025.  They’ll have activities for kids, vendors and food trucks beginning at 6pm and the music starts at 6:30.

Thunder Mountain Summer Concert Series

The Summer Concert Series at Thunder Mountain Campground, 250 N Raceway Vila Drive in Bristol, Tennessee is every Saturday from 5-11pm thru September 7th.  Family fun for all with a vendor village, food trucks, a beer garden and a concert.  Parking is $15 per car and come concerts will be ticketed.  Go to tmcbristol.com/tickets.

July Senior Bingo

It’s free for anyone over 55 and will be on Tuesday, July 1st from 1-2pm at the Appalachian Fairgrounds building 1 in Gray.  They have snacks and prizes too.

Jonesborough Days Festival

The kick-off Dinner is Wednesday, July 2nd from 6-8pm in the Courtyard of the International Storytelling center featuring the crowd favorite Low Country Boil and a selection of fruit cobblers for dessert.  Tickets are $20 and always sell out fast so get them in advance.  To purchase tickets call 423-753-1010. It’s a fundraiser for the 55th Jonesborough Days Festival.  Enjoy the Late Night Swim and Glow Party on Thursday, July 3rd from 7:30-9pm at Wetlands Water Park.  The Jonesborough Days Parade officially kicks off the festival on Friday, July 4th at 10am through Boone and Main streets downtown.  Bring a lawn chair, they’ll have live music and storytelling, vendors, contests and much more. Friday and Saturday from 11-6  bring the kids to Patriot Park for a variety of activities.  The festival will wrap up with the annual fireworks display on Saturday, July 5th at 10pm.

Freedom Fest in Unicoi

Celebrate the freedom of our nation at Freedom Fest on Friday, the 4th of July at 404 Massachusetts Avenue in Unicoi!  It’s free and everyone is welcome.  Festivities begin at 5pm, they’ll have live music from Rhythm brewers and Donnie & The Dry Heavers.

Mount Carmel Fourth of July Celebration

The Town of Mount Carmel will host a Fourth of July celebration with live music, great food and patriotic festivities on Friday the 4th.  Music begins at 6:30pm on Main Street, the lineup includes Quentin Horton and Benny Wilson and Gets and Liars.  Come hungry, over 10 food trucks will be on hand with delicious offerings.  They’ll have bounce houses and more for kids and as the sun sets, enjoy a spectacular fireworks display.  Everyone is welcome, bring a lawn chair!     

Elizabethton Independence Day Celebration

The Elizabethton Independence Day Celebration is Friday, the 4th of July at Citizens Bank Stadium.  Festivities begin at 4:30pm with food trucks, the Little Miss Firecracker Pageant, live music from The Chain-a Fleetwood Mac Tribute Band, a Patriotic opening ceremony and a big fireworks finale. 

Abingdon 4th of July Celebration

The Abingdon 4th of July Celebration will be held at the Farmer’s Market Pavillion and Remsburg Drive on Friday the 4th.  Festivities begin at 4pm with a bike parade.  They’ll have food available, games, live music at 7pm from the Cameron Clark Orchestra followed by a Patriotic performance at 9:20 and fireworks beginning at 9:30.

Pepsi Independence Day Fireworks  

The 38th Annual Pepsi Independence Day Fireworks Celebration is set for Friday, July 4th at Freedom Hall in Johnson City.  Festivities begin at 6pm with food, live music, contests and a big fireworks show at 10pm.

Fireworks on Boone Lake

July 4th in Friday’s Hollow near Rockingham Marina you can expect fabulous fireworks from the Kalogeros family and Peerless Properties.  The custom show starts at 9:45pm and will be coordinated to music.  The best way to experience this event is to come by boat.

America’s Bash is on Saturday, July 5th!  The event starts at 6pm with a live DJ, at 7pm it’s the honorable Veteran’ recognition and Dylan Scott performs at 8pm.  Fireworks begin at dark.  Go to americasbash.com for more information.

Kingsport Red, White and Boom Independence Day Celebration

It’s on Saturday, July 5th from 5-10pm at Centennial Park.  Food Trucks and a live free Concert from Night Ranger!

Sunflower Festival

The Annual Mountain City Sunflower Festival is set for Saturday, July 12th from 9-5 on Main Street in Mountain City.  Shop over 200 vendors.  Admission is free.

Gray Block Party

The Gray Block Party is Saturday, July 12th from 5-10pm.  It’s a summer celebration for the community with food, music, wrestling, fireworks, inflatables, an arcade and a cheerleader performance.  It’s an all free event for the whole family!

Free Pool Party at Wetlands Waterpark

There will be a free pool party at Wetlands Waterpark in Jonesborough on Saturday, July 12th from 6-8pm.  It’s hosted by the Children’s Advocacy Center of the First Judicial District.  All children must be accompanied by an adult.  Food and drinks will be provided.

Covered Bridge Bluegrass Jamboree

The Covered Bridge Bluegrass Jamboree is a special FREE all-day concert on Saturday, July 14th from 1-10pm at Covered Bridge Park in Elizabethton.  The lineup will include Hollow Ground, Eric McMurray and Granby Road, Appalachian Trail Bluegrass and Balsam Range.  There will be plenty of food trucks on hand with delicious offerings.  Bring a blanket or a lawn chair!

Tennessee Hunter Safety Education Course

There will be a free Hunter Safety Education Course on Thursday, July 17th from 9-5 and Friday July 18th from 8-noon at Unicoi County Farm Bureau, 1001 N. Main Avenue in Erwin.  The class is open to ages 9 and older.  Parent/adult attendance is not required on Thursday and lunch will be provided on that day. Parents/adults must attend the shooting portion with their child on Friday.  You can register at tiny.utk.edu/HunterEd25.

Fun Fest Downtown Street Fair

The Downtown Street Fair will kick off Fun Fest 2025 on Saturday, July 19th from 10-2 on Broad Street in Kingsport.  They’ll have live performances, international exhibitors, food vendors, street performers, buskers, a sidewalk chalk art competition, touch a truck and more. 

Fun Fest Car Show Cruise in

The Annual Funfest Car Show Cruise In, sponsored by the Dan’l Boone Car will be Saturday, July 26th from 10am-2pm in front of the historic train station in downtown Kingsport.  The show will be open to all cars, trucks, motor vehicles, farm tractors and motorcycle owners who want to show off their rides.  Dash plaques will be awarded to the first 200 registrants.  It’s free to register and it will be on site only.  It’s a Cruise In with no awards and it will go on rain or shine at 101 Main Street.

Good Samaritan Ministries

Good Samaritan Ministries is in need of volunteers to help distribute summer food boxes on Saturday July 26th.  They also need an army of volunteers on Sunday, August 3rd for the Annual Back to School Bash at Freedom Hall in Johnson City.  Call 423-928-0288 to sign up.

Community Car Show

The Washington County Sherrif’ Office is hosting a Community Car Show on Saturday, July 26th from 10-3 at 112 West Jackson Blvd in Jonesborough.  Registration is open now for vehicles, craft vendors and food trucks.  You can only register via Friends of WCSO’s link.  Proceeds support community projects.

Jeeps Invade Freedom Hall

The First ever Jeeps Invade Freedom Hall will be Saturday, August 2nd from 11am-3pm in Parking Lot A, 1320 Pactolas Road in Johnson City.  Registration is $25 at the event with awards for Best inn Show, Best Classic, People’s Choice and Best Themed.  They’ll have food trucks on site, music and door prizes.  Afterwards there will be a Jeep Parade to Tiebreakers.  It’s free for spectators!   

Tennessee Plant Show: Back to School bash

Tennessee Plant Show is a free one day event centered around gardening and community on Saturday, August 2nd from noon-6pm at Holiday Inn Johnson City.  Sip, Swap and Shop!  Admission is free and it’s for all ages!

Meet The Mountains Festival

Rockin on the Doe

Rockin on the Doe is a special free concert presented by Covered Bridge Jams on Saturday, August 16th at Covered Bridge Park in Elizabethton beginning at 6pm.  The event will feature a lineup of talented musicians and will wrap up with a headlining performance by the award winning Chicago Rewired, with a tribute to the band Chicago.  Plenty of food trucks will be on hand with a variety of delicious offerings.  Everyone is welcome, bring a blanket or a lawn chair. 

Abingdon Soap Box Derby

The Abingdon Soap Box Derby Challenge will be on Saturday, August 30 from noon-4pm on Main Street from Partington Place to Pecan Street.  Entry fees vary.  They will have 3 race categories: Big Wheel Race for ages 3-7 with free registration, youth division for ages 8-15 with a $50 fee and Grand Prix for ages 16 and up with a valid driver’s license and a fee of $75.   Look them up under facebook events for more information.

Smoky Mountain Fan Fest 2025

Smoky Mountain Fan Fest 2025 returns to Meadowview Convention Center in Kingsport September 5-7.  There will be celebrity guests, Q&A Panels, Cosplay, Vendors, artists and much more!

Ride For Wreaths

Rolling Thunder TN 4 will host their Annual Ride For Wreaths on Saturday, September 6th at 10am.  Meet at Crossroads Christian Church, 1800 Suncrest Drive in Gray.  The cost is $17 per person which includes free coffee and refreshments.  Kickstands up at 11:30 for the police escorted scenic ride to Johnson City, Jonesborough, Piney Flats and Bluff City.  Jeeps, cars and trucks are also welcome.  The Family Friendly Fair opens at noon at Impact Community Center, 337 Carter Street in Bluff City.  $17 walk in admission, $5 cookout lunch, fun and games, music and more!  Proceeds will be used to buy wreaths for Veterans graves at Mountain Home National Cemetery.  You can also purchase wreaths at wreathsacrossamerica.org/tn0040p.

Sorghum Festival and Breakfast

The Sorghum Festival and Breakfast at Tipton Haynes State Historic Site, 2620 South Roan Street in Johnson City will be Saturday, September 13th from 8-4.  The team will show the process of making sorghum and will serve a biscuit and gravy breakfast from 8-11am.   Enjoy the open historic house and explore the cave.  Several bluegrass and old time bands will be playing all day in the barn.  You’ll also find local vendors, food trucks, a Ford Model A car show and more!  Admission with breakfast is $10 for adults, $5 for kids under 12.  Without breakfast, it’s $6 for adults and $3 for kids. 

Harvest Moon Celebration 2025

The Annual Harvest Moon Celebration, Kickin Back at King Alley in Gate City, Virginia is Saturday, September 20th beginning at 11am with activities for the whole family.  You’ll find craft vendors, small businesses, activities, inflatables, food, music, artisan demos, a pumpkin decorating contest, art showcase and so much more.  Admission is free!

Woodbooger Festival

The Woodbooger Festival is set for September 26-28 in downtown Norton, Virginia.  They’ll have bigfoot experts presentations, live music, vendors, contests, scavenger hunts, carnival games for kids, canoe rides, guided hikes, a 5K trail race, a Woodbooger night hike search and much more!  Activities will also be going on at Flag Rock Recreation area.

Absolutely Able Festival

The 5th Annual Absolutely Able Festival-showcasing the awesome abilities of individuals with disabilities is set for Saturday, September 27th from 10am-2pm at the Washington County Sheriff’s Department, 112 West Jackson Blvd in Jonesborough.  It’s hosted by The Arc of Washington County, free and open to the public.  You’ll find handcrafted goods, live performances, great food, entertainment and information sharing.  For more details call 423-928-9362.

2025 Air/Space/Cyber Expo

The 2025 Air/Space/Cyber Expo will be held Saturday, September 27th from 9:30am-2pm in the Regional Center for the Performing Arts at Northeast State Community College in Blountville.  The Air & Space Association is highlighting the fields of aviation, space technologies and cybersecurity in this 3rd Annual event, providing information about career options, educational opportunities and opportunities for community service.  See their Eventbrite page for more information and to register.

Tri-Cities Fall Food Truck Festival

Over 20 food vendors will be serving up a variety of delicious offerings on Saturday, October 18th from 11-7 and Sunday, October 19th from 2-6pm at 3077 US-11E in Bluff City.  Bring the whole family, they’ll have hay rides, mechanical bull rides, a free kids zone, music and an Apple Pie Eating contest at 3pm.  Admission is free, parking is $5.
