
Flower Sale
The Animal Shelter of Sullivan County is holding their Annual Flower Sale at 1200 Volunteer Parkway in Bristol. Stop by and purchase beautiful flowers for your garden. Every Purchase helps care for the animals in need at the shelter. The sale is going on through May 10th and the hours vary.
Clothing Drive
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office is holding a Clothing Drive on Thursday, May 1st from 10am-2pm at 112 West Jackson Boulevard in Jonesborough. They’ll be collecting donations of new or gently used and clean clothing for men and women in any size. Spring/summer items only at this time including shoes, shirts, pants, shorts, socks, and new underwear. Items will be issued to inmates as they are being released. Please do not donate clothing with a business logo.
Jericho Shriners Comics, Toys and Collectibles Show
The Jericho Shriners Directors Staff Comics, Toys and Collectibles Show is set for Saturday May 3rd from 9-3 at the Shriners Temple, exit 63 off I-81 in Blountville. Admission is $5, kids 12 and under get in free. Proceeds go to Shriner’s Children’s Hospital. It’s $30 to rent a table. Call Bobby for more information at 423—557-4146.
Kingsport Arts Festival
The Kingsport Arts Festival is set for May 3rd from noon-5pm on the 100 block of Shelby Street downtown. They’ll have free activities for all ages, free demos, vendors and more!
Woolly Days Festival at Rocky Mount
The Woolly Days and Colonial Gardens Festival is Saturday, May 10th from 10am-5pm at Rocky Mount State Historic Site in Piney Flats. It’s a mixture of educational and hands-on fun for all ages. For tickets or more information go to rockymountmuseum.com.
Bark in the Park
The Washington County/Johnson City Animal Shelter will host an Easter themed Bark in the Park on Saturday May 12th from 1-3pm at King Commons Park in Johnson City. They’ll have a live DJ, food, vendors, Pet contests and activities for kids. All pets must be leashed at all times. It’s free!
Appalachian Trail Days Festival
The Appalachian Trail Days Festival is the biggest event of the year in Damascus and the World’s largest celebration of the Appalachian Trail and hiker culture. Trail Days will be May 16-18 this year, rain or shine. It includes over a hundred vendors of handmade goods, some of the best outdoor gear and a packed schedule of live music and events. Wayne Scott Strawberry Festival
The 22nd Annual Wayne Scott Strawberry Festival is Saturday, May 17th from 10-5 at Unicoi Elementary School, 403 Massachusetts Avenue in Unicoi. You’ll find over 150 vendors, live music and delicious food. Admission is free!
Iris Festival in Greeneville
The 30th Anniversary Celebration of the Iris Festival in Greeneville is Saturday and Sunday May 17th and 18th! You’ll find arts, crafts, merchandise vendors, delicious food and live entertainment downtown. Admission is free, everyone is welcome and the hours are Saturday from 10-5 and Sunday from Noon-5pm. Glow in the Park
Bring the whole family out for Glow in the Park on Friday May 23rd at 7pm at 201 Willow Street in Mt Carmel. They’ll have yard games, great food available, a dance party, a glow foam pit and a movie which will begin at dusk. Everyone is welcome!
Gala at Tipton Haynes Historic Site
The 1st Annual Gala and Benefit Dinner at Tipton Haynes Historic Site is set for Friday, May 23rd at 6pm. Food will be provided by Texas Roadhouse and the menu will feature an 8 oz Chicken Breast or 8 oz sirloin with green beans, roasted potatoes, salad and dessert. Gate City Jeep Jam

Car Show
The 33rd Annual Car Show sponsored by Ridge Runners Rods & Customs is set for Saturday, June 3rd from 10-3 at Hardin Park, 602 crescent Drive in Greeneville. Entry fee is $10 and proceeds will benefit the Greeneville/Greene County Humane Society. They’ll be food, music, plaques and door prizes too!
Midsummer Market
The Midsummer Market will be Saturday, June 21st from 10am-8pm at King Common’s Park in Johnson City. It’s a celebration of local businesses with unique vendors, live music and food trucks with a variety of options. Admission is free!
Mount Carmel Fourth of July Celebration
The Town of Mount Carmel will host a Fourth of July celebration with live music, great food and patriotic festivities. Music begins at 6:30pm on Main Street, the lineup includes Quentin Horton and Benny Wilson and Gets and Liars. Come hungry, over 10 food trucks will be on hand with delicious offerings. They’ll have bounce houses and more for kids and as the sun sets, enjoy a spectacular fireworks display. Everyone is welcome, bring a lawn chair!
