The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office will host their Annual National Night Out on Tuesday, August 5th at 4pm. It’s a family friendly event with a lot of activities and it’s free. That’s at 1651 Blountville Blvd in Blountville.
Town of Unicoi Cruise In
The town of Unicoi Cruise In is every Friday from 5:30-7:30pm thru September 26th at 106 Unicoi Village Place. Cruise In and check out the hot rods, vintage cars and shiny engines. Drop-ins welcome and it’s free for everyone!
Music on the Square in Jonesborough

Believe In Bristol’s Border Bash Summer Concert Series
Believe in Bristol’s 2025 Border Bash summer concert series will feature live music in Downtown Bristol, TN/VA, on several dates throughout the summer.

August 8: Caitlin Krisko & The Broadcast and Randi Denton at Downtown Center.
The Border Bash is a free concert series hosted by Believe in Bristol, celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2025. They’ll have activities for kids, vendors and food trucks beginning at 6pm and the music starts at 6:30.
Thunder Mountain Summer Concert Series
The Summer Concert Series at Thunder Mountain Campground, 250 N Raceway Vila Drive in Bristol, Tennessee is every Saturday from 5-11pm thru September 7th. Appalachian Strong: A Night of Resilience
It’s an event to raise money for NETN Disaster Recovery hosted by United Way of East Tennessee Highlands and Johnson City Brewing Company at their location in Boones Creek on Thursday, August 14th from 4-9pm. It’s a chance to come together, enjoy some great entertainment, and support vital long-term recovery efforts in our region.
🍻 Limited Release: Johnson City Brewing will be debuting a limited release of Elderberry Golden Ale. $1 of all pints on draft will be donated to disaster relief.

The Meet The Mountains Festival will be at Winged Deer Park Lakefront, 199 Carroll Creek Road in Johnson City Friday and Saturday August 15th & 16th. Rockin on the Doe
Rockin on the Doe is a special free concert presented by Covered Bridge Jams on Saturday, August 16th at Covered Bridge Park in Elizabethton beginning at 6pm. The event will feature a lineup of talented musicians and will wrap up with a headlining performance by the award winning Chicago Rewired, with a tribute to the band Chicago. Plenty of food trucks will be on hand with a variety of delicious offerings. Everyone is welcome, bring a blanket or a lawn chair.
Depot Street Party
The Depot Street Party is Saturday, August 16th from 6-10pm on Depot Street in downtown Greeneville. They’ll have a live band, food trucks, and your favorite establishments will be open late. It’s free and open to the public!

Duffield Daze
Duffield Daze has something for everyone in Duffield, Virginia. The Lawn and Garden Mower Pull is Friday, August 29th from 7-10pm and the Antique Tractor Pull will be Saturday, August 30th from 7-midnight. The 5K Walk/Run begins at 7am on Saturday, August 30th from the Pioneer Center parking lot, followed by the Duffield Daze Parade at 10:30. The Car Show is from 9am-1pm in the HMG Duffield parking lot. Entry is free but donations will gladly be accepted. They’ll have door prizes, dash plaques and trophies. Then they’ll have a huge fireworks show at 9:30pm..
Abingdon Soap Box Derby
The Abingdon Soap Box Derby Challenge will be on Saturday, August 30 from noon-4pm on Main Street from Partington Place to Pecan Street. Entry fees vary. They will have 3 race categories: Big Wheel Race for ages 3-7 with free registration, youth division for ages 8-15 with a $50 fee and Grand Prix for ages 16 and up with a valid driver’s license and a fee of $75. Children’s Consignment Sale
The Children’s Consignment Sale is Thursday-Saturday September 4-6 at the Appalachian Fairgrounds in Gray. Hours are Thursday and Friday from 9am-7pm and Saturday from 10am-4pm. Most items will be half off on the final day. They’ll have over 60 thousand items for newborns-teens. Admission and parking are free.
Symphony of the Mountains Show with Don Felder

Tri-Cities 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb
The 2025 Tri-Cities 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb presented by Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Bristol will be on Saturday, September 6th at 9am at Bristol Motor Speedway. It’s a way to honor and remember the FDNY firefighters who gave their lives so that others might live on 9/11/2001. Each participant pays tribute to an FDNY firefighter by climbing the equivalent of the 110 stories of the World Trade Center. The Stair Climb benefits the FDNY CSU, helps cover the costs for FDNY families to attend Memorial Weekend and the programs provided by the NFFF to support the families of our nation’s fallen firefighters. Cruzin For Critters Car Show
The Cruzin For Critters Car Show presented by Lady Jeep Warriors of NE TN/SW VA and Michael Waltrip Brewing Company on Saturday, September 6th. All vehicles are welcome including motorcycles. The event will be at Cumberland Square Park in Bristol Virginia, registration is from noon-11pm, the fee is $25 and it will be followed by the show and shine from 1-3. They’ll also have a pet parade and pet adoptions. It’s a fundraiser for The Bridge Home No Kill Animal Rescue. Donations of any kind would be greatly appreciated.

Help Feed the Hungry Car Show
The 20th Annual Help Feed the Hungry Car Show is Saturday, September 6th from 10am-2pm and all proceeds will go to Highlands Fellowship food pantry on the Abingdon, Va campus, 22417 Watauga Road. Registration is $20 per car. Trophies for the Top 15 and Specialty awards too. Concessions will be available.
Ride For Wreaths
Rolling Thunder TN 4 will host their Annual Ride For Wreaths on Saturday, September 6th at 10am. Meet at Crossroads Christian Church, 1800 Suncrest Drive in Gray. The cost is $17 per person which includes free coffee and refreshments. Kickstands up at 11:30 for the police escorted scenic ride to Johnson City, Jonesborough, Piney Flats and Bluff City. Jeeps, cars and trucks are also welcome. The Family Friendly Fair opens at noon at Impact Community Center, 337 Carter Street in Bluff City. $17 walk in admission, $5 cookout lunch, fun and games, music and more! The 2025 Tree Streets Yard Sale is Saturday, September 6th starting at 8am between Roan Street and University Parkway. Bring cash, some sellers take venmo/paypal, but not all.
Sorghum Festival and Breakfast
The Sorghum Festival and Breakfast at Tipton Haynes State Historic Site, 2620 South Roan Street in Johnson City will be Saturday, September 13th from 8-4. The team will show the process of making sorghum and will serve a biscuit and gravy breakfast from 8-11am. Enjoy the open historic house and explore the cave. Several bluegrass and old time bands will be playing all day in the barn. You’ll also find local vendors, food trucks, a Ford Model A car show and more! Admission with breakfast is $10 for adults, $5 for kids under 12. Without breakfast, it’s $6 for adults and $3 for kids.

The Woodbooger Festival is set for September 26-28 in downtown Norton, Virginia. Activities will also be going on at Flag Rock Recreation area.
River Rat Music Festival
The River Rat Music Festival is September 26th and 27th at I-81 Motorsports Park, 3705 W. Pines Road in Greeneville. You’ll find live music both days from several bands, vendors, food, bounce houses and hayrides. Weekend passes at the gate are $100, day passes are $60, camping prices are not included, ages 12 and under get in free. Gates open at 3pm on September 25th.
Pharoahs Annual Car Show
Pharoahs Southwest Virginia Annual Car Show is set for Saturday, September 27th from 1-5pm at Bristol Commons, Exit 7, 3170 Linden Drive in Bristol, Virginia, All Cars, Trucks, Rat Rods and Bikes are welcome Registration is $20, the cut off is at 3pm and trophies will be handed out at 4. Absolutely Able Festival
The 5th Annual Absolutely Able Festival-showcasing the awesome abilities of individuals with disabilities is set for Saturday, September 27th from 10am-2pm at the Washington County Sheriff’s Department, 112 West Jackson Blvd in Jonesborough.
