The Who’s Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend are currently touring the U.S. on their farewell The Song Is Over Tour. But in a new interview with The New York Times, the legendary musicians indicated that while this may be their final full tour, they are not officially disbanding and may still perform select shows in the future. When asked if their farewell tour represents a definitive end of the Who, Townshend humorously responded, “Are you suggesting we’re swindling the public? The fact is, we are willing to swindle them. That’s what we’ve done our entire life. Why stop?” Daltrey added, “We’re not giving up as a band. We might do a couple of residencies. Hopefully, Pete and I won’t stop making music.” The Who’s farewell tour continues with a high-profile show at New York City’s Madison Square Garden on Saturday (August 30), before a series of two-night stands in Toronto, Chicago, and Los Angeles in September.
