Talking Heads icon David Byrne and Paramore singer Hayley Williams are collaborating on the music for Netflix’s upcoming animated adaptation of Roald Dahl’s beloved children’s book The Twits. Byrne has written and produced three original songs for the film, which will be performed by the cast. The film, based on Dahl’s 1980 book, tells the story of the cruel and unsavory Mr. and Mrs. Twit and their battle against a family of magical Muggle-Wumps and two brave children. Byrne expressed his excitement for the project, saying, “Kids (and adults) love that they can vicariously imagine their own worst impulses played out, harmlessly, in a punky fun story.” Williams, a longtime Dahl fan, called it a “pinch-me moment” to be part of the film’s music. The voice cast includes Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, Ryan Lopez, Timothy Simons, Nicole Byer, Jason Mantzoukas, and more. The Twits premiers October 17 on Netflix. (Variety)
