Organizers confirmed that Saheem Ali will direct, with a stage book by Peter Duchan and choreography by Ebony Williams. Jason Michael Webb will oversee musical supervision, arrangements and orchestrations. Prince collaborators Bobby Z and Morris Hayes will serve as music advisers. Casting will be announced later.

The musical follows The Kid, a young Minneapolis performer balancing a difficult home life, a rival band and a developing romance. The stage production will feature more than 20 Prince songs, including Purple Rain, When Doves Cry, I Would Die 4 U and The Beautiful Ones.

The Broadway engagement follows an earlier version of the musical that premiered in Minneapolis in 2025. The new production continues the stage adaptation’s connection to Prince’s music while introducing the familiar story to a new theater audience.

The public invitation included several possibilities. Hagar suggested that Roth could sing a few songs, introduce the show, or simply join the celebration. He also praised Roth for continuing to perform Van Halen material and helping keep the band’s music in front of longtime fans.

The gesture is notable because the two singers have shared a complicated relationship for decades. Roth fronted Van Halen during the band’s original rise, while Hagar joined after Roth’s departure in 1985. Their disagreements continued even when they toured together in 2002.

Hagar’s September residency features former Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony alongside guitarist Joe Satriani, drummer Kenny Aronoff, and keyboardist Rai Thistlethwayte. Roth has not publicly responded to the invitation.

During the unannounced promotional appearance on July 24, frontman Billie Joe Armstrong climbed onto the roof of the truck and performed Basket Case for the crowd gathered in Gallagher Square. Videos from the event showed fans surrounding the vehicle as Armstrong played the band’s 1994 hit.

The truck was decorated to promote Nimrods, an upcoming coming-of-age comedy inspired by Green Day’s early touring years. Cast members Mason Thames and Jenna Fischer were also present for the event.

After the performance, Armstrong joined bassist Mike Dirnt and drummer Tré Cool inside the truck. The band handed out ice cream, T-shirts and cassette tapes to fans.

Nimrods follows three teenagers who travel to Los Angeles after believing their band has been booked to open for Green Day on New Year’s Eve. The comedy is scheduled for release on August 14.

At the event, organizers recognized both men for their work connected to civil rights and civil liberties. Kaepernick spoke about the importance of protecting education, dignity, and the rights of future generations. The ceremony also acknowledged the professional and personal consequences he faced after protesting police violence and racial inequality during his NFL career.

Springsteen was honored for his long record of using music and public appearances to address social and political issues. He closed the ceremony with a solo performance of Streets of Minneapolis, bringing the evening to a quiet musical finish.

Actress and activist Laverne Cox hosted the event. The award takes its name from writer Ralph Ellison, whose work examined race, identity, and American society.

The ceremony brought together figures from music, sports, and entertainment while focusing on civic participation and the defense of constitutional freedoms.

The guitar is a Radiant Red Epiphone Les Paul Junior, a model closely associated with Armstrong’s playing style. It features a single pickup, a mahogany body and neck, and a straightforward control layout designed for direct, punchy tones.

Marshall’s new 1959BJA Artist Signature amplifier is a hand-wired, 100-watt model inspired by the modified amps Armstrong used during Green Day’s early years. Its sound is tied closely to the sharp guitar tone heard on the band’s 1994 album Dookie.

The amplifier also comes in a baby-blue finish, a visual reference to Blue, Armstrong’s well-known guitar. Together, the releases reflect his preference for uncomplicated gear built around loud, clear rock tones.

Both products are aimed at players who want equipment connected to Armstrong’s sound and stage history.

Release details confirm that both albums will arrive as deluxe two-record sets pressed on 180-gram black vinyl at RTI. The packages include gatefold jackets, archival sleeves, rare images, source-tape material and newly written liner notes.

Crow’s self-titled record includes songs such as If It Makes You Happy, Everyday Is a Winding Road and A Change Would Do You Good. The new edition marks the album’s first release on vinyl.

August and Everything After features Counting Crows favorites including Mr. Jones, Round Here and Rain King. Its edition was cut directly from the original analog master tapes, preserving the sound of the band’s breakthrough debut for a new pressing.

The comments come as the group prepares to play for fans across the country. Rzeznik explained that the song has taken on a life of its own, with longtime listeners singing every word alongside younger fans who discovered it more recently.

Released in 1998, Iris became one of the band’s biggest hits and remains a regular part of their live shows. Its popularity has continued through streaming platforms, film soundtracks, radio airplay, and social media, helping it reach new audiences decades after its original release.

For the Goo Goo Dolls, the song has become more than a familiar concert favorite. It represents a shared experience between the band and its fans, making each performance feel meaningful as they continue another busy touring season.

The publication also reports that the album entered the Billboard 200 at No. 7 with 53,000 equivalent album units. The debut gives the band its 39th Top 10 album on the chart, extending its record for the most Top 10 albums in Billboard 200 history.

Foreign Tongues also reached the Top 10 on several additional album rankings, including charts focused on vinyl sales, rock music and alternative music. The results reflect continued demand for the band’s new releases across both physical and streaming formats.

Released on July 10, the album follows the band’s 2023 studio release, Hackney Diamonds. It includes new recordings, appearances by guest musicians and a track featuring late drummer Charlie Watts.
