*The1stfive.com reports that Eddie Vedder (Pearl Jam) had recorded a new song, “Better Days”, for the Julia Roberts movie Eat Pray Love. It looks like the song itself will be released as a limited edition 7" on September 20th. But only in the UK. Read on.

*Ronnie James Dio fans! Three new Dio-related releases are set to release in November. November 9th brings the release of "Dio At Donington UK: Live 1983 & 1987", the first official release from Niji Entertainment Group, the label formed by the late Ronnie James Dio and his wife/manager Wendy Dio. On the very same day fans will be able to pick up "Bitten By The Beast"- David "Rock" Feinstein, featuring "Metal Will Never Die" with lead vocals from Ronnie James Dio. On November 23rd a special Limited Edition Picture Disc on vinyl of "Holy Diver" will be released. Wait, there's more.

*The "Supertramp 70-10" tour is underway, but there's some griping from a former member.

*Oh, Cyndi Lauper is coming to the Orange Peel over in Asheville on November 28. Tix go on sale tomorrow.

*Born this day: Dave Stewart of the Eurythmics in 1952; Doug Ingle of Iron Butterfly (and, briefly (ha!) Stark Naked and the Car Thieves), 1946; Billy Preston, 1946 (died of multiple complications in 2006); Otis Redding, 1941 (died in a plane crash in 1967 just before (Sittin' on ) The Dock of the Bay was released...it went on to be the first posthumous #1 charter in U.S. history)
